Question 595808: find the remaining remaining functions of θ
θsin=8/9, θ in quadrant 2
Answer by jsmallt9(3758) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! - Draw a right triangle.
- Label one of the acute angles as theta.
- Since sin is opposite/hypotenuse, label the side opposite to theta as 8 and the hypotenuse as 9.
- Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the adjacent side.
- Now that you have all three sides of the triangle, you should be able to form all the ratios for all the other functions.
- Use the fact that theta terminates in the second quadrant to assign the proper signs to each of the rations you wrote in step 5. (sin, csc are positive, all the rest are negative)
