You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Please help me with this problem. Solve for x:
5 - 3│2x - 1| = -x .
CASE 1.......2X-1>0....THAT IS 2X>1...X>1/2
|2X-1|=2X-1
5-3(2X-1)=-X
5-6X+3=-X
5X=8
X=8/5...THIS SATISFIES THE ASSUMPTION AT THE BEGINING THAT X>1/2
HENCE ONE SOLUTION IS X = 8/5
CASE 2......2X-1<0....THAT IS 2X<1...X<1/2
|2X-1|=-(2X-1)=-2X+1
5-3(-2X+1)=-X
5+6X-3=-X
7X=-2
X=-2/7.....THIS SATISFIES THE ASSUMPTION AT THE BEGINING THAT X<1/2
HENCE SECOND SOLUTION IS X = -2/7
