Question 59470: I tried this, but my answer turned out being too high. Here's the problem.
The first angle of a triangle measures 5 degrees more than the second. The measure of the third angle is half of the measure of the second. Find the measures of the angles of the triangle.
What I'm pretty sure is right:
y+5= 1st angle
y= 2nd angle
y/2= 3rd angle Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (Y+5)+Y+Y/2=180
Y+5+Y+Y/2=180
2.5Y=180-5
2.5Y=175
Y=70 ANGLE 1
THEN Y+5=70+5=75 ANGLE 2
THEN 180=70+75+70/2
180=70+75+35 (35 ANGLE 3)
180=180
