you need an "=" sign for it to be an equation
If it's equal to zero,
3/x + 4/y + 2 = 0
4/y = -3/x - 2
the common denominator is xy
4x/xy = -3y/xy - 2xy/xy
multiply both sides by xy
4x = -3y - 2xy
y(-2x - 3) = 4x
y = - 4x/(2x + 3)
not linear
