Question 59436: I had this problem on a test and totally blanked out on it. How do you solve it?
Solve for x.
(3/x)-(2/x+1)=2 Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve for x.
The LCD is x(x+1) the values that x can't be are 0,-1 because denominators are not allowed to equal 0. Multiply all terms by the LCD to clear the fractions. Factor Set each parentheses equal to 0 and solve for x:
2x+3=0 and x-1=0
2x+3-3=0-3 and x-1+1=0+1
2x=-3 and x=1
2x/2=-3/2 and x=1
x=-3/2 and x=1
Happy Calculating!!!
