m^2 + 4m - 21
I believe you need to factor this
= m^2 + 7m - 3m - 21 [Splitting the middle term 4m as 7m - 3m so that 7*3 = 21]
= m( m+7) - 3(m + 7) [Taking the common factor from the first and the last
two terms]
= (m+7) (m - 3) [Again (m+7) is a common factor taken out]
m^2 + 4m - 21 = (m+7)(m-3)
