First lets convert 45 minutes in 3/4 of an hour
Plug in the data to get:
56=d/3/4
This can be rewritten as:
56=4d/3
Solve by multiplying 3/4 to both sides:
56(3/4)=d
Multiply out:
Distance = 42 miles were traveled.
