You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In a bag of mixed nuts, there are 2 peanuts for every 3 cashew nuts. If there are 15 nuts in total, how many peanuts are there?
---
Use a proportion:
peanuts/cashews = peanuts/cashews
x/(15-x) = 2/3
3x = 30-2x
5x = 30
x = 6 (# of peanuts)
15-x = 9 (# of cashews)
