:
Even integers are counted by adding 2
2,4,6,8,...
2,2+2,2+2+2,2+2+2+2,...
Let the first even integer be:x
Then the second even integer is:x+2
Finally the third even integer is:x+2+2=x+4
5 times the first means:5x
is mean:=
14 more than means:+14
3 times the second means:3(x+2)
Problem to solve:
5x=3(x+2)+14
5x=3x+6+14
5x=3x+20
5x-3x=-3x+3x+20
2x=20
2x/2=20/2
x=10
The first even integer is: x=10
the second even integer is:x+2=10+2=12
***The third even integer is:x+4=10+4=14 (c)
Happy Calculating!!!
