No one would have as much difficulty understanding functions if teachers would be precise about the language when they introduce the concept in the first place.
Consider . This is NOT a function. is the function, is the value of the function at . So, what do you suppose means? If you said the value of the function at then you get a gold star on your forehead.
So for this problem, find the value of the function at and then find the value of the function at that value. Capisce?
