Question 590172: Okay, so our teacher gave us a bunch of numbers like: 1256 and then: = 1
and we have no idea what that means meanwhile were suppose to figure it out, so 1256 = 1, but we don't know why then next one was like 3895 (something like that) equals 2 so any ideas or help would be awesome ! Thanks, Olivia Holly Russell ! :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Okay, so our teacher gave us a bunch of numbers like: 1256 and then: = 1
Perhaps he means this:
1 _ 2 _ 5 _ 6 = 1
Put the operators in there, +,-,*,/, or nothing, to make the equation true, like:
12 - 5 - 6 = 1
:
Do the same with:
3 _ 8 _ 9 _ 5 = 2
I can't make this one work, if it was
3 _ 6 _ 9 _ 2 = 2
we could have:
3 + 6 - 9 + 2 = 2
:
Anyway see if you can work out something like that
