A lot of people use the acronym FOIL to remember to distribute everything (First, Outer, Inner, Last). I like to just distribute the first term then distribute the second term in the first parenthesis throught the second parenthesis.
2x%28x-4%29%2B3%28x-4%29
2x%28x%29%2B2x%28-4%29%2B3%28x%29%2B3%28-4%29
2x%5E2-8x%2B3x-12 Combine your like terms:
