You can put this solution on YOUR website! You don't need a "system of equations", just one equation will do. 
 x = one number
 x - 6 = second number {second number is 6 less than first}
 
 x + x - 6 = 24 {sum of two numbers is 24}
 2x - 6 = 24 {combined like terms}
 2x = 30 {added 6 to both sides}
 x = 15 {divided both sides by 2}
 x - 6 = 9 {substituted 15, in for x, into x - 6}
 
 15 and 9 are the two numbers
