the product of the number must be 12x2+3 or 27 as it is 2 times the sum adding 3.
because the sum is 12 there are only limited numbers that can add to get 12, they are

6 and 6
5 and 7
4 and 8
3 and 9
the only set of those numbers that multiply to get 27 is 3 and 9
so the number is 39
