To find 160% of any amount you multiply by 0.160, or by 160%2F100 (the same thing), or multiply times 160 and divide by 100, or multiply times 16 and divide by 10, or divide by 10, oand then multiply times 16, or .... The possibilities are endless. I would calculate it whichever way is easier for me.
If 144 is 160% of a mystery number x, then
0.16x=144 ---> x=144%2F1.6=90
