You can put this solution on YOUR website!
use cramer's rule to solve the given system:
2x+4y=14
4x+3y=18
First find the determinant:
2 4
4 3
d=2%2A3-4%2A4
d=6-16
highlight%28d=-10%29
1/d=-1/10
Now replace the x's with the answers. Do the same thing we did to find the determinant and multiply the answer by 1/d=-1/10
14 4
18 3
x=%28-1%2F10%29%2814%2A3-18%2A4%29
x=%28-1%2F10%29%2842-72%29
x=%28-1%2F10%29%28-30%29
x=30%2F10
highlight%28x=3%29
Now replace the y's with the answers and do the same thing you did to get the x.
2 14
4 18
y=%28-1%2F10%29%282%2A18-4%2A14%29
y=%28-1%2F10%29%2836-56%29
y=%28-1%2F10%29%28-20%29
y=20%2F10
highlight%28y=2%29
The solutiong is: (x,y)=(3,2)
Happy Calculating!!!
