This says that +7.75+ is greater than +x+-+.25+
Add +.25+ to both sides of the inequality.
( It's not an equation. Equations say that 2 things are equal )

+8+%3E+x+ ( +8+ is greater than x )
Write this from right to left
+x+%3C+8+ ( x is less than 8 )
