in the example, the intercept is 2 ___ so go to 2, ON the y-axis, and mark a point
the slope of the graph is indicated by the x-coefficient in the equation
___ it is the RATIO of the CHANGE in the y-value, to the CHANGE in the x-value
in the example, the slope is 3 ___ this means that for every three units that y increases, x increases by one unit
starting at the y-intercept (0,2), go up 3 units and to the right one unit, to (1,5)
___ do the same thing again to go to (2,8)
