g(x)= 10/(x+7)

It's an equation with 2 variables.
You cannot solve it unless you give "x" some value.
For that reason x is called the independent variable.
Once you know what x is you can solve for g(x).

If x = 3, y = 10/(3+7) = 1
If x = -2, y = 10/(-2+7) = 2
etc. to get more points

Plot (3,1) and (-2,2) and your other points and draw a graph thru them.
