You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+10+ dollars x +10+ dimes/dollar = +100+ dimes
+3+ dollars x +10+ dimes/dollar - +30+ dimes
Let +n+ = number of dimes in jar 2
+30+%2B+n+ = number of dimes in jar 1
given:
+n+%2B+30+%2B+n+=+100+
+2n+=+100+-+30+
+2n+=+70+
+n+=+35+
+n+%2B+30+=+65+
There are 65 dimes in jar 1
There are 35 dimes in jar 2

2 jars of dimes total $10.00, jar 1 has $3.00 more that 2,
how many dimes are in each jar?
-----
Jar 2 has x dollars
Jar 1 has x+3 dollars
----
Equation:
x + x + 3 = 10
2x = 7
x = $3.50 (35 dimes in Jar #2)
----
x+3 = $6.50 (65 dimes in Jar #1)
