Question 578752: if the hypotenuse of a right triangle is 70 feet and one of the legs is 42 feet. what is the length of the other leg Answer by dfrazzetto(283) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
c = 70
b = 42
a = ?
You could use pythagorean theorem a^2+b^2=c^2, but if you divide each leg by 14, you can see this is a special 3,4,5 right triangle
c = 70/14 = 5
b = 42/14 = 3
a = x/14 = 4
a = 14*4 = 56 feet
