Question 578233: Hello,
Geometry-Fine the measure of each labeled angle

The question: Two intersecting lines (sort of like X. On one side it has 10x+6 on the other side of the angle it has 12x-5.
I have completed several of these types of problems, but I can not answer the variable for X. I need to find what X represents. I keep coming up with x=22, but that cant be right. Can someone please help me with this measure? Since it's not 90 degree's, would it be 180 degree's or 360degree's
I know this is probably a very simple question, but I just cant seem to get the right answer?
Thank you very much.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Set the equations equal to each other, since the angles on either side of two intersecting lines must be equal:
10x+6 = 12x - 5
11 = 2x
x= 11/2 or 5.5, plug this back in to either one to get the angle
10(5.5) + 6 = 55+6 = 61 degrees
12(5.5) - 5 = 66-5 = 61 degrees √
