(x^2+x+1)(x^2-x+1) multiply each term through carefully, then combine like terms:

x^4 - x^3 + x^2
+ x^3 - x^2 + x
+ x^2 - x + 1
--------------------------
x^4 + x^2 + 1

x^4+x^2+1
