what I have so far....
X= adult tickets purchased
y= child's tickets purchased
3.25x + 1.50y = 1275
x+y=500
I am not sure if this is correct. Please help!!!!!

X+Y=500 NOW SOLVE FOR X
X=500-Y NOW REPLACE X BY (500-Y) IN THE FIRST EQUATION
3.25(500-Y)+1.50Y=1275
1625-3.25Y+1.50Y=1275
-1.75Y=1275-1625
1.75Y=350
Y=350/1.75
Y=200 CHILDREN TICKETS
THUS X+200=500
X=500-200
X=300 ADULT TICKETS
PROOF
3.25*300+1.50*200=1275
975+300=1275
1275=1275
