Question 576020: if your dealing with linear equations and it set up in this format : 2x + y =5
x-y = 4
how do you solve and or graph the problem im very confused
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2x + y =5
Plot 2 points:
Let x = 0, then y = 5
Let y = 0, then x = 5/2
----
Plot (0,5) and (5/2,0) and draw a line thru them.
=======================================================
x-y = 4
Plot 2 points:
Let x = 0, then y = -4
Let y = 0, then x = 4
-----
Plot (0,-4) and (4,0) and draw a line thru them.
----

=================
Solution: (3,-1)
