Question 575754: I am trying to find the missing coordinates for the equation 3x+4y=4 how would I solve this problem
I get 3x+4y=4
3(4)+4y=4
12+4y=4
4y/4=16/4 y=4 the coordinates are (4,) I keep getting 4 in my answer would it be (4,4)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When you went from 3x+4y=4
to 3(4)+4y=4
whay you did is make x=4.
They you found that for x=4, y=4,
so you got the point (x,y)=(4,4)
To find a point in the line represented by 3x+4y=4,you set a value for one of the variables (x or y) and find tyhe corresponding value for the other one.
For y=0, 3x+4(0)=4 --> 3x=4 --> x=4/3, and you get the point (4/3,0).
For x=0, 3(0)+4y=4 --> 4y=4 --> y=1, and you get the point (0,1).
