Question 57501: We are to perform the math operation and simplify completly.. There is no book and we are in rational expressions and fractions
x^2 + 2x -15/x^2 - 9/x^2 + 6x +5/x^2 + 4x +3
I have this for my answer (x + 1)(x + 3)
Thanks so much please show steps so that I can compare

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2 + 2x -15/x^2 - 9/x^2 + 6x + 5/x^2 + 4x + 3
:
I have no idea how you got (x+1)(x+3) FOILing that: x^2 + 4x + 3, are you just ignoring 2x, 6x and the fractional terms, it's not even an equation
:
Group like terms and add:
x^2 - 15/x^2 - 9/x^2 + 5/x^2 + 2x + 6x + 4x + 3
x^2 - 19/x^2 + 12x + 3
:
Put over it all over one denominator, arrange in descending order:
%28x%5E4+-+19+%2B+12x%5E3+%2B+3x%5E2%29%2Fx%5E2 = %28x%5E4+%2B+12x%5E3+%2B+3x%5E2+-+19%29%2Fx%5E2
:
Hope this helps anyway.
