Exam is worth 3 scores (3x), therefore we will be dealing with total of 7 test scores
:

Multiply both sides by 7
3x + 295 = 7(70)
3x + 295 = 490
3x = 490 - 295
3x = 195
x = 195%2F3
x = 65 min score on the exam for have a 70 average
