You can put this solution on YOUR website! i have a question that says "Given the lengths of the three sides, tell whether each of these are right triangles or not"
a)8,15,17
b)9,10,15
**
Remember the Pythagorean Theorem?
The square root of the sum of the squares of the two legs(short sides)=hypotenuse(long side)
a) 8^2+15^2=289
√289=17
Therefore, these are dimensions of a right triangle
..
b) 9^2+10^2=181
√181≠15
Therefore, this is not a right triangle

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If they are right triangles then it will follow the Pythagoras theorem
The longest side is always the hypotenuse in a right triangle
leg1^2+leg2^2=hypotenuse^2
leg1 & leg2 are the sides forming the right angle.
8,15,17
17 has to be the hyptenuse if it is a right triangle
8^2+15^2=289
17^2= 289
hence it is a right triangle.
you can verify the second
