Question 570381: Louis collects comic books. He buys 3 comics a week for a year. Let "X" represent the value of weeks and write an equation that would calculate the number of weeks it has been in Louis has 48 comics.
I can't seem to think of any other way to write it except X*3=48 but that seems incorrect...

-----
# of comics = 3x where x is # of weeks.

Solve:
48 = 3x
x = 16 (# of weeks)

Let's see, using your theory, in 1 week he would have , in 2 weeks, , etc. seems perfectly reasonable to me. Why does it seem incorrect to you?
