You can put this solution on YOUR website! This is a monomial, or a number where the denominator(bottom part) doesn't have any addition/subtraction/multiplication/division. When you have a binomial--for example, 10r^2/40r+8r^2--you can't just cancel out the elements of the top and bottom halves of the equation, but with a monomial you can.
All you need to do is expand the equation now:
10 x r x r / 40 x r
Now you cancel out the like numbers and terms. You can see that 10 divides evenly into 40, so you can cancel them out to get:
r x r / 4 x r
You can also cancel out a pair of the r's.
r / 4
Your answer is r/4.
