You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A sum of $1250 is to be divided between two people in the ratio of 2 to 3. How much does each person receive?
Person #1 + Person #2 = $1250
x+x=1250 [If each piece were equal]
2x+3x=1250 [Ratio of 2:3]
5x=1250
x=250
.
Person #1 receives (2)(250)=$500
Person #1 receives (3)(250)=$750
_________________________________
Total sum = $1250
