How does one know whether or not a faction is proper or improper?
If the numerator (the top of the fraction) is greater than the denominator (the bottom of the fraction), the fraction is improper: ex: 4%2F3.

If the numerator (the top of the fraction) is less than the denominator (the bottom of the fraction), the fraction is proper: ex: 3%2F4.
