Mother will be = m+8
Daughter will be = d+8
Then
she will be twenty yrs. than her daughter
m+8=(d+8)+20
m+8=d+8+20
m+8=d+28
m=d+28-8
m=d+20................(2)
Put the value of m from (1) to (2)
2d=d+20
2d-d=20
d=20
Put the value of d in (1)
m=2d
m=2(20)
m=40
Present age of Mother = m = 40 years old
Present age of Daughter = d = 20 years old
