You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A round pizza with a diameter of 52 cm is cut into 12 equal sectors. a square
pizza, with sides of length 41 cm, is cut into 9 equal squares.
Which pizza slice, a sector Or a square, has the greatest area and how much
greater is it?
:
Find the area of the round pizza. A+=+pi%2Ar%5E2
r = 52/2 = 26 cm
A+=+pi%2A26%5E2
A = 2123.7 sq/cm
Find the the area of each sector
2123.7%2F12 = 177 sq/cm for each sector
:
Find the area of the square pizza
41%5E2 = 1681 sq/cm
Find the area of each of the 9 equal square
1681%2F9 = 187 sq/cm for the squares
:
187 - 177 = 10 sq/cm more in the square
