do we know 2l+2w=210
and l=3w-3
so I'll just sub in 3w-3 for l and get
2(3w-3)+2w=210
distribute the 2
6w-6+2w=210
combine like terms
8w=216
add 6 to both sides
w=27
divide both sides by 8
now that we know width we can plug it into my original equation:
2l+2*27=210
2l+54=210
subtract 54 from both sides
2l=156
divide both sides by 2
l=78
