Let's look at the graphs for highlight%28f%28x%29+=+x%29 and highlight_green%28g%28x%29+=+x%2B5%29:

You can see that the graph of highlight_green%28g%28x%29+=+x%2B5%29 is just the graph of highlight%28f%28x%29+=+x%29 only shifted up 5 spaces.
That is, for every x-value on the graph of highlight%28f%28x%29+=+x%29, the graph of highlight_green%28g%28x%29+=+x%2B5%29 has 5 added to it.
