I have tried and thought it through in my brain, but I'm having an all nighter so that probably doesn't help me. Please fix my stupid brain! Thank you in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For mixed numbers, either deal with the whole number part and fraction part separately, then combine, or turn the mixed numbers into fractions.

Let's try dealing with the whole numbers and fractions separately.

2-5 = -3

3/8 - 3/4 | Find a LCD between 4 and 8, that's 8.
3/8 - 6/8 = -3/8

Combine: -3 + -3/8 = -3 and 3/8

Turn both to fractions:
2 and 3/8 = (8*2+3)/8 = 19/8
5 and 3/4 = (4*5+3)/4 = 23/4 | LCD is 8
19/8 - 46/8 = -27/8 = -3 and 3/8
