Question 561299: Okay my algebra teacher is teaching us polynomials to a factor, the difference of two squares, and perfect square trinomials. And the problem is I don't understand really. The question is 54k^2 - 24. What I have to do first is 54(x^2-12). And that's where I am stuck, I don't know what to do next so please help me.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
54k^2 - 24

6(9k^2 - 4)

6( (3k)^2 - 2^2 )

6(3k-2)(3k+2)

So 54k^2 - 24 completely factors to 6(3k-2)(3k+2)
