You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter = 136
Length (2x+2)
Width =x ft

Perimeter = 2(2x+2)+x)
Perimeter = 2(2x+2 +x)
Perimeter =4x+4+2x
136=6x+4
136-=6x
136-4=6x
132=6x
x=22 ft Width
Length= 46

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+2+ ft
also
The formula for Perimeter is
+P+=+2W+%2B+2L+
Given:
+P+=+136+ ft
(2) +2W+%2B+2L+=+136+
--------------------
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+2+
(1) +2W+-+L+=+-2+
Subtract (1) from (2)
(2) +2W+%2B+2L+=+136+
(1) +-2W+%2B+L+=+2+
+3L+=+138+
+L+=+46+
and, since
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+2+
(1) +2W+=+L+-+2+
(1) +W+=+%281%2F2%29%2A%28+L+-+2+%29+
(1) +W+=+%281%2F2%29%2A%28+46+-+2+%29+
(1) +W+=+44%2F2+
(1) +W+=+22+
The room's dimensions are 22' x 46'
check:
+P+=+2W+%2B+2L+
+136+=+2%2A22+%2B+2%2A46+
+136+=+44+%2B+92+
+136+=+136+
OK
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+2+
(1) +46+=+2%2A22+%2B+2+
(1) +46+=+44+%2B+2+
(1) +46+=+46+
OK
