The diagonal forms a triangle with two of the sides.
You can either use the rules for a 45-45-90 triangle (which this will create) or you can use the Pythagorean theorem (where the rules for the 45-45-90 triangle comes from).
So Pythagorean theorem is a%5E2%2Bb%5E2=c%5E2 but in this case a=b since all the sides of a square are the same. So we have a%5E2%2Ba%5E2=c%5E2 which is 2a%5E2=c%5E2
sqrt%282a%5E2%29=c
sqrt%282%29%2Aa=c
Which is the rule for a 45-45-90 triangle. If the two sides are x then the hypotenuse is sqrt%282%29%2Ax
So we have sqrt%282%29%2A13.5 So the answer will be around 19.09
