You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let a = number of adult tickets station can buy
Let s = number of student tickets station can buy
given:
(1) +22a+%2B+19s+=+167+
(2) +a+%2B+s+=+8+
Multiply both sides of (2) by 19 and
subtract (2) from (1)
(1) +22a+%2B+19s+=+167+
(2) +-19a+-+19s+=+152+
+3a+=+15+
+a+=+5+
and
(2) +a+%2B+s+=+8+
(2) +5+%2B+s+=+8+
(2) +s+=+3+
They can buy 5 adult and 3 student tickets
check:
(1) +22a+%2B+19s+=+167+
(1) +22%2A5+%2B+19%2A3+=+167+
(1) +110+%2B+57+=+167+
(1) +167+=+167+
OK
