mean = 400×1%2F10 = 40

variance = (number)×(probability)×(One minus probability)

variance = (400)×(1/10)×(1-1%2F10) = (400)×(1%2F10)×(10%2F10-1%2F10) = (400)×(1%2F10)×(9%2F10) = 40×9%2F10 = 360%2F10 = 36
