But you also need to convert minutes to hours, since they give you a number in minutes, but they want an answer in hours. See that?

So .5%2F12 miles/minute is what you have when you divide.

Then the conversion factor from minutes to hours is 60+minutes%2F1+hour.

So you multiply your answer by the conversion factor so the minutes cancel, leaving hours.
