1 x + 4 y = 41 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -2
Multiply (2) by 1
-10 x -4 y = -122
1 x 4 y = 41
Add the two equations
-9 x = -81
/ -9
x = 9
plug value of x in (1)
5 x + 2 y = 61
45 + 2 y = 61
2 y = 61
2 y = 16
y = 8.00
