This is an example where the Distributive property is needed.
In this case each number or variable within the (parenthesis)
must be multiplied by the number directly in front of the (parenthesis).
So:
the 4 must be multiplied by the (t) = 4t
and the 4 must also be multiplied by the (-5) = -20
or:
4(t-5)= 4t -20
