Question 558442: would x(yz) = y(xz) be associative property of multiplication?
Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Yes, but you would have to assume that multiplication is commutative. x(yz) = x(zy) = (xz)y = y(xz), applying the commutative and associative properties. Note that other operations, such as division or cross-products, are not necessarily commutative or associative.
