Question 55584: graph the equation; calculate the slope, x-intercept and y-intercept and label the intercepts on the graph
2x + 3y = 9
Thought I had this one - but I'm way off. Are graphs always this hard?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! graph the equation; calculate the slope, x-intercept and y-intercept and label the intercepts on the graph
2x + 3y = 9
---------
To graph you need two points:
Let x=0 then y=3; gives you point (0,3);this is the y-intercept
Let y=0 then x=4.5; gives you point (4.5,0); this is the x-intercept
Plot the two pts. and draw a line thru them; that is your graph.
-------------
Put the equation in slope-intercept form, as follows:
2x+3y=9
3y=-2x+9
y=(-2/3)x+3
The slope is -2/3; the y-intercept is 3.
