Well because he has already deposited $177 and he wants $500 he's 177/500 of the way there. So first we need to know how much more he needs so we subract the amount he already has($177) from the amount he wants to save($500) 500-177=323. Next we divide the amount he needs($323) by the amount of time he needs it in(19 weeks) 323/19=17. So Manuel needs to save $17 a week to save $500 in 19 weeks.





(500-177)/19=
323/19=17
