First I divided 42 by 3 to get 14.
Second I added 1 to the 14 to get 15.
Last i counted down the last three numbers (13,14,15) to get the answer of 42.
Here is the equation:
(42/3)+1 then I counted down three numbers and added them 15+14+13=42

When we count we are counting by adding 1's:
1,1+1,1+1+1,1+1+1+1,...=1,2,3,4,...
Therefore,
Let the 1st integer be:x
Then the 2nd integer is: x+1
Then the thrid integer is: x+1+1=x+2
Sum means add:
(x)+(x+1)+(x+2)=42
x+x+1+x+2=42
3x+3=42
3x+3-3=42-3
3x=39
3x/3=39/3
x=13
The 1st integer is:x=13
The 2nd integer is:x+1=13+1=14
The 3rd integer is: x+2=13+2=15
